Imran, Sanjay’s Rs 3cr passion

The young actor books himself the latest Ferrari, joins the Bollywood’s band of boys who own hot wheels, toplined by Dutt

Sanjay Dutt owns one. As does music mogul Bhushan Kumar. And now, Imran Khan, with six released films and four hits to his credit, has booked the latest model of Ferrari. Mumbai Mirror has discovered that the particular model of the Italian sports car that he has booked would be available only next year and would cost him over Rs 3 crore.

Superstar Bollywood Actor Imran Khan visits Chak 89

The exclusive restaurant Chak89 was recently surprised to receive a visit from the famous and every woman’s dream actor, Imran Khan. The nephew of actor Aamir Khan became famous for his debut role in the blockbuster film ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ in 2008. He won the ‘Filmfare Award’ for best male and later appeared in commercially successful films like ‘Hate Luv Storys’ and ‘Delhi Belly’.

Actor Imran Khan, apart from promoting his upcoming release Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, is busy chalking out plans to bring in the New Year. If everything works out according to plan, towards the last leg of the year, the 29-year-old will be off to Las Vegas with his guy friends for a relaxing trip. And it’s not the first time he’s doing it.

Even before he became an actor, he always made time for his buddies, taking off on backpacking trips, usually towards the end of the year. This year, he’s chosen Las Vegas in the USA for his annual holiday because he toured the place in 2010 while shooting for his rom-com with Kareena Kapoor.

Imran wants serious roles

After the failure of his first and only action film Kidnap, actor Imran Khan has focussed mainly on romantic comedies. From I Hate Love Storys, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and now Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, the actor has been exploring the romantic comedy genre to the fullest. The actor, now, is looking for something different. “I know that I’m doing a lot of rom-coms. I’d like to do something hard-hitting too. But how many such roles are actually being written?” he asked.

Imran, however, is ecstatic about Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, where he will be working with someone he admirers the most. “I’m finally working with Kareena,” he says, adding, “I had a secret crush on Kareena. When director Shakun Batra came to me with the script, he did not have a producer or even the final draft of the script.

Dev Anand wanted Imran to star in Awwal Number

Legendry actor Dev Anand wanted Pakistan cricket captain-turned-politician Imran Khan to act in Awwal Number, a film he directed and released in 1990.

Anand (88) passed away in London yesterday. In his autobiography, Romancing with Life (published by the Penguin Group in 2007), Anand revealed that he wanted the Pakistani cricket star to play the role of a star in decline. Inspiration behind Imran Khan’s Ek Main… character

Actor Imran Khan, riding high on the success of two consecutive films this year, Delhi Belly and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (MBKD), unveiled the theatrical promo of his next, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (EMAET) on Wednesday. This film releases next February.

But why has the title changed from Short Term Shaadi? “That wasn’t even our working title. So, there was no way we could have changed it. Halfway through the movie, I read in the papers that the film’s working title was Short Term Shaadi. That was odd because everyone on the sets knew it wasn’t the case,” Imran says.
