Anushka Sharma to play a psycho chick opposite Imran Khan in Vishal Bharadwaj’s next

Anushka Sharma has been signed opposite Imran Khan in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Matru Ki Biwi Ka Mann Dola, a joint production by Bharadwaj, Ajay Devgn and Kumar Mangat. Ajay was initially supposed to play the male lead but had to drop out of the project to work on his home production ‘Son of Sardar’.

It will be shot in the rustic locales of Rohtak, Haryana. The movie is speculated to be a laugh riot.

This movie is a biggie in the kitty of both Imran and Anushka who are currently riding on the success of their previous hits. Anushka is thrilled as she will be portraying a dramatically different role of a psycho chick in this urban comedy. Continue reading →

Vishal Bhardwaj’s next with Imran and Anushka

Vishal Bhardwaj (Omkara, Kaminey, Saat Khoon Maaf) is all set to make his next film Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola. Apparently, the director had been toying with the idea to make this film for the last eight years and now finally it is going to the floor. Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola is pitched as a romantic comedy and is written, produced and directed by him.

Omkara star Ajay Devgan was originally set to do the film but he backed out so there was speculation that Kaminey’s Shahid Kapoor would step in. However, after watching Imran Khan in Delhi Belly, Vishal has finally signed the young Khan for the role of a rustic and rugged character. Though the actor has to undergo this massive change, Imran being the experimental actor that he is, has decided to adopt a novel technique, that of joining an akhaada. The akhaada is basically a free style old world gym where people built their bodies working in mud without using machines.

Ratna Pathak Shah plays Imran Khan’s mother in ‘Ek Main Aur…’

Ratna Pathak Shah, who was last seen in ‘Golmaal 3′, will be seen next in Shakun Batra’s ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’. The film stars Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles and Ratna plays Imran’s mother in the film.

Ratna had earlier played Imran Khan’s mother in ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’, but character she plays is in EMAET is a complete contrast to the one she played in the former film. Her role is somewhat on the lines of the character of Maya Sarabhai, she portrayed in the hit sitcom ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’. Kat, Ali, Imran in Ghaziabad

The star cast of ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ on Monday (September 05) promoted film in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif along with actors Imran Khan and Ali Zafar was present on the occasion. Katrina reached the venue riding a horse.

The star cast danced on to the tunes of the song, and Ali Zafar even sang one of the songs from the film. The film stars Ali Zafar in the lead role, while John Abraham appears in a cameo role. ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ marks the directorial debut of Ali Abbas Zafar who happens to be in the star cast as well. The actor in the presence of his publicists had spoken about filing a Public Interest Litigation against the proposed drinking law of the Maharashtra government during the promotion of his last film Delhi Belly. For reasons that he “discovered later”, he never filed the petition.
